NAPTA’s Instructor Skills Conference, ISC, provides all levels of teaching and training techniques for educators and trainers that enhance their ability to transfer technical knowledge and practical skills. In addition, ISC brings learning professionals together for three days of networking, best-practice sharing, and the latest in industry trends and expectations.

The 2022 Instructor Skills Conference XII will take place from 8 AM Wednesday October 12 - Noon Friday October 14, 2022 at the Astor Crowne Plaza French Quarter in New Orleans, LA.

An Outcomes First Approach to meeting Industry’s Expectations

Alison D. Bordelon is the Director of Industry Aligned Career Pathways for the Louisiana Community and Technical College System, (LCTCS) which oversees the State’s two-year public institutions of higher learning throughout Louisiana.

Alison earned a BS in Accounting from the University of Holy Cross and an MBA from the University of New Orleans. Alison has served on many academic, economic development, and non-profit boards, and was appointed by the Governor of Louisiana as a Commissioner of the BioDistrict New Orleans, currently serving as Secretary/Treasurer.

At the age of 22, Dave was the youngest Dale Carnegie® Instructor ever certified and is currently the President of Dale Carnegie Training of Austin/Houston, Texas. During his time with Dale Carnegie®, Dave has received ongoing international recognition as a premier trainer, including the prestigious “Global Trainer of the Year” award (out of 3500 Dale Carnegie trainers worldwide). Dave has conducted over 5000 sessions throughout North America, and has been a featured speaker at the Dale Carnegie® International Convention five times.

Dave’s clients include a variety of industries and organizations, with programs delivered to both the employees and management of numerous companies and also sits as a board member for Independent Petroleum Association of America as they continue to expand their commitment of education outreach.

Keynote Speaker 

In 2018, just two short years after she was first elected to the Louisiana Senate, Sharon was named “National Legislator of the Year” by the American Legislative Exchange Council (ALEC). In 2021, Sharon led the national Republican Legislative Campaign Committee and raised record-breaking funds to support state legislators across the country in their 2021 and 2022 campaigns. Sharon serves as Senate Chair of Republican Legislative Delegation and is the current Chairwoman of the Senate and Government Affairs Committee.

She earned a mechanical engineering degree from Louisiana State University and went on to become one of the first female executives in a major oil and gas company. She eventually took charge of Shell’s central deepwater assets situated in the Gulf of Mexico, a division of more than 160 employees with a budget in excess of a quarter of a billion dollars a year.  In that position, she oversaw roughly 10% of the oil production in the United States and was trusted with managing billions of dollars in assets.
